THE EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT ANALYSIS OF MILK PROCESSING ENTERPRISES FUNCTIONING IN UKRAINE

Abstract

The article is devoted to the modern tendencies analysis of Ukrainian dairy industry, its main problems and development prospects. The study of the main aspects of domestic dairy companies activities in the dairy market is conducted. A comparative analysis of the dairy products per capita consumption level in Ukraine, the EU and some other countries is performed. The declining dynamics of the dairy products average annual consumption by the population of Ukraine for the period during 2013-2019 is analyzed. The main factors influencing the decrease in consumption and effective demand for dairy products in Ukraine are identified. A significant dependence of milk processing enterprises efficiency on the market of raw milk, milk prices, its quality characteristics, the state of dairy farming was established. The regions that process the largest volume of milk have been identified. The statistical data on the structure and dynamics of dairy production in Ukraine during 2012-2019 are described. The activity of the largest domestic dairy producers, which are market leaders, is described. It is determined how the profitability of milk production and processing depends on market prices for dairy products. The dynamics of profitability of milk producers for the period during 2012-2019 is described. It is established that the ability of milk processing enterprises to adapt the changes in the external environment is a necessary condition for achievement the production activities efficiency and profitability. Monitoring of the raw milk market, regional location of the country's largest raw material bases, tracking consumer preferences in the dairy market allows the managers of enterprises to make effective decisions on production structure, cost control and production program within the established strategy. The magnitude of the impact of all factors that affect milk processing enterprises from the outside should be detected by financial monitoring entities and taken into account when determining competitive advantages in the dairy market in the context of the value-based management concepts.
